The Matchman
This gentleman is the Head of Security at VALentine Complex and the brawn behind all of that organization's brainpower. He has had something of a checkered career: educated at Oxford and Sandhurst, he was a ranking officer in the Zairian military before that unfortunate country's untimely demise in the waning years of the twentieth century.
Following his dismissal, he has worked as a freelance mercenary in sub-Saharan Africa and has also been rumored to have been a performing circus strongman before co-founding, with Dr. Rhoda Dendrite, the VALentine team. He has been Matchman's personal trainer and bodybuilding consultant since the very beginning of our hero's career, being a formidable fighter. He is a consummate master of various unarmed fighting styles.
Appearance. A gigantic Black man in a military uniform of indeterminate origin, complete with leopard-skin fez and a panther skin slung over one shoulder; he speaks with a clipped Oxford accent, schooled at Oxford and Sandhurst.
