The Duchess belongs to the fictional royal circle in comic 6. The Beefeater chooses her for her lineage, planning to turn a forced union into a route to power. Her kidnapping brings VALentine Complex into the crisis.
She responds to danger with spirit and sharp words. After her release, she expresses strong affection for Matchman. His later accounts of the Duchess irritate Z-Girl, allowing a completed mission to leave a personal after-effect within the regular team.
